Our little wood was a wild area that has been cleared, landscaped and securely fenced, leaving beautiful trees and shrubs, perfect for exploring, climbing, or just sitting in the shade.
The landscape gardener built our very own low level Tree House. There’s rope swings, hammocks and a large den for playing in. Materials will be available for chalk marking for outdoor painting activities. A large circle of tyres have been cemented into an upright position and provide a great place for children to sit and share ideas, outdoor circle time! Picnic time!
Equipment has been built to encourage children to balance and take controlled risks and provide a wonderful outdoor learning environment for all ages to use. Forest School activities take place, looking at wildlife and nature. The space is divided into three areas, allowing free flow between areas as well as the opportunity for staff and children to lose themselves in one specific area.
We are all very excited about this outdoor play space, the only one in a nursery setting in Wells, and what a super setting !
