We hope you have all had a lovely summer Break. A big welcome to all of our new children and their families who have recently started at Tree House, or moved to the Pre-School.
At Tree House we have a completely open door policy, where you can talk to us about anything. We are here for you, so if you have any concerns, comments or queries, please don’t hesitate to speak to a member of staff, or your child’s key person.
Faye’s return – In December, Faye is due to return to Tree House after enjoying her maternity leave. Faye will be returning to her role as a Little-End team leader and deputy Manager.
Christmas Shutdown – We will be open on Christmas eve this year (Tuesday the 24th of December) however, we will be closing at 1:30pm. We will then be closed over the Christmas period, reopening Thursday the 2nd of January.
Summer shutdown 2020 – The summer shutdown for August 2020, falls outside of the bank holiday next year. This means we will be closed Monday the 24th of August, reopening Tuesday the 1st of September.
Wells Carnival – Wells carnival is on Friday the 15th of November this year. Please note, in order for all of our staff and families to get home safely and promptly, we will be closing at 5:00pm. Please make arrangements for your children to be collected before 5:00pm on this date.
Concept Photography – Concept photography will be visiting Tree House on Tuesday the 29th of October between 9:00am-12:00pm. If your child attends Tree House on Tuesdays, they will have their photos taken. If your child doesn’t attend Tuesdays, and you would like their photos taken, we will be releasing a booking sheet soon. As this falls in the half term, please feel free to bring older siblings if you would like them to be included in photos.
Halloween Week – Between Monday the 28th of October and Friday the 1st of November, we will be having our Halloween week. We will be playing games, face painting, reading spooky stories, and taking part in all manner of scary activities. Please feel free to dress your children in Halloween costumes for this week.
Pupil premium fund – The early year’s pupil premium (EYPP) is additional funding for early years settings to improve the education they provide for disadvantaged 3- and 4-year-olds. Please visit the following link for more information – https://www.gov.uk/guidance/early-years-pupil-premium-guide-for-local-authorities
48 hour Sickness policy – If your child has been poorly they must not return to Nursery until 48 hours have passed since their last case of either sickness or diarrhoea. This guideline is set by the department of health to prevent the spread of illness between other children and staff.
Registers – Please remember to sign your child in and out of the setting. Registers can be found in the lobby at the little end and on the desk at pre-school. This is an Ofsted requirement and must be completed. This ensures we know who has been signed in and out, for fire and safety procedures. If you are unsure how to do this please speak to a member of staff.
Medicine – If your child requires medicine, whether painkillers or prescription, please note it cannot be stored in their bag or drawer. It must be given to a member of staff, be signed for, and labelled. It will then be stored securely in the kitchen. If you would like to keep a bottle of calpol etc., at the setting, we have a designated storage fridge for medicine. Please see a member of staff for details.
Clothes – Please ensure that you have a FULL change of clothes in your child’s bag. This goes for babies, toddlers and Pre-Schoolers. Whether toilet training or not, we play outside a lot, use loads of paints for craft and play in sand and water on a daily basis. Whilst we do everything we can to prevent as much mess as possible, sometimes, it’s nice to get a little messy and accidents do happen. A full change of clothes is just a precautionary measure, should we have to change your child. Please make sure clothes are weather appropriate as well i.e. long sleeves, trousers, coats etc.
Sessions – Just a gentle reminder, that the school day session is 8am-4pm. Please do not drop off before 8, and collect no later than 4. Our ratios rely on these numbers being correct. This is also true of the 6pm collection. We close at 6pm, and must have the premises empty by then. Failure to do so will result in not only late fees, but staff having to stay beyond our opening hours.
7:30am start – If your child does an all day or AM+L session, and you would like them to start at 7:30am, you must book this in. If you turn up at 7:30am without having booked the session, you may be asked to stay and wait with your child, as we need to ensure correct ratios. Just call us in advance, and we will see if there is space. We will always do our best to accommodate you.
