Summer is finally with us, so here is your news and updates for July.
At Tree House we have a completely open door policy, where you can talk to us about anything. We are here for you, so if you have any concerns, comments or queries, please don’t hesitate to speak to a member of staff, or your child’s key person.
Sun cream
Hopefully the sun is here to stay, or at least make a regular appearance. If you are taking advantage of our sun cream scheme, and haven’t done so already, please remember to pay £2 to a member of staff next time you’re in the setting. This will cover daily sun cream application for the whole of the summer. Alternatively, please remember to bring your child’s own, labelled sun cream into the setting, for each session or to leave in their drawer. As a reminder, we only apply sun cream at 1:30pm. You must apply Sun Cream to your child before coming to Tree House, alternatively, you’re welcome to use our Sun Cream when you arrive (a bottle will be out at each end)
Florence Bluebell Burr
On the 11th Of June at 5:09pm, Chloe welcomed 6lb 4oz, Florence Bluebell Burr into the world. Chloe and Florence are both doing great. Chloe will be returning to Tree House next year after enjoying her maternity.
Construction update
We are slowly but surely making progress with the new building. After a few teething problems, we are back on track, and expect construction work to gain momentum through the summer months.
Sessions
Just a gentle reminder, that the school day session is 8am-4pm. Please do not drop off before 8, and collect no later than 4. Our ratios rely on these numbers being correct. This is also true of the 6pm collection. We close at 6pm, and must have the premises empty by then. Failure to do so will result in not only late fees, but staff having to stay beyond our opening hours.
7:30am start
If your child does an all day or AM+L session, and you would like them to start at 7:30am, you must book this in. If you turn up at 7:30am without having booked the session, you may be asked to stay and wait with your child, as we need to ensure correct ratios. Just call us in advance, and we will see if there is space. We will always do our best to accommodate you.
Concept Photography
Concept photography will be visiting Tree House on Tuesday the 29th of October between 9:00am-12:00pm. If your child attends Tree House on Tuesdays, they will have their photos taken. If your child doesn’t attend Tuesdays, and you would like their photos taken, we will be releasing a booking sheet soon. As this session is during the half term, please feel free to bring siblings if you so wish, just make sure you mention it when booking your slot.
Pupil premium fund
The early year’s pupil premium (EYPP) is additional funding for early years settings to improve the education they provide for disadvantaged 3- and 4-year-olds. Please visit the following link for more information – https://www.gov.uk/guidance/early-years-pupil-premium-guide-for-local-authorities
Fee Policy
Please remember, as per the settings policy, We expect fees to be paid within the first 7 days of each month. Please check your invoice for additional information if you have any queries relating to the fees.
Christmas Eve
We will be open on Christmas Eve (Tuesday the 24th of December) however, we will be opening for a half day (7:30am-1:30pm). If your child is due to attend on this day, we are offering a session swap. Please contact the setting to arrange this.
Summer Shutdown
Please remember, we will be closed on Monday the 26th of August, reopening Monday the 2nd of September.
School leavers
A huge Good Luck to all of the Pre-Schoolers transitioning to Primary School this year! We will miss you all, but are so excited to see you move onto the next stage of your lives. We send you nothing but good wishes on your big adventure!
Registers
Please remember to sign your child in and out of the setting. Registers can be found in the lobby at the little end and on the desk at pre-school. This is an Ofsted requirement and must be completed. This ensures we know who has been signed in and out, for fire and safety procedures. If you are unsure how to do this please speak to a member of staff.
Medicine
If your child requires medicine, whether painkillers or prescription, please note it cannot be stored in their bag or drawer. It must be given to a member of staff, be signed for, and labelled. It will then be stored securely in the kitchen. If you would like to keep a bottle of Calpol etc., at the setting, we have a designated storage fridge for medicine. Please see a member of staff for details.
Clothes
Please ensure that you have a FULL change of clothes in your child’s bag. This goes for babies, toddlers and Pre-Schoolers. Whether toilet training or not, we play outside a lot, use loads of paints for craft and play in sand and water on a daily basis. Whilst we do everything we can to prevent as much mess as possible, sometimes, it’s nice to get a little messy and accidents do happen. A full change of clothes is just a precautionary measure, should we have to change your child. Please make sure clothes are weather appropriate as well i.e. sun hats, shorts etc.
